Book Series - Unscrambling order of books
I have a problem i would like some advice on.
When i first installed Calibre & loaded books by an author, series order was sequential, ie. 1-10+. Now for some reason my series are scrambled. Can anyone advise me on remedying this. Thanks. |

Please use the forums correctly. Calibre questions belong in the Calibre forum, to where I'm moving this.

Sounds like a simple matter of sort order. To sort by series order within author, click first on the "Series" column header, and then on the "Author" column header. If you want to make this the default sort order when Calibre starts, go to "Preferences / Tweaks", and set the value of the "Specify columns by which to sort the booklist on startup" setting to:
sort_columns_at_startup = [('authors', 0), ('series', 0)] (The default sort order when you install Calibre is to sort by title within author, which will scramble your series.) Last edited by HarryT; 06-25-2015 at 05:24 AM. |

Harry
The default is Natural Order, simply the ({id}) order the titles were added to that particular Library. |

Unfortunately (?), the box above the Line-Numbers has always been 'Clear Selections' so I use Ctrl-R (I do not have a Sort tweak set), but the downside is selections may be lost. The last Added book will then be at the bottom of the list. Kovid, Could a Shift-Click <row # header> be assigned to sort by ID? |

The natural sort order is by date not id. Simply click the date header to sort by date again.

OopsI have been using Copy to Library, with the Preserve Date tweak after 'intake (library) processing'. New books (Main Library) do not always get transferred in order of original arrival. I guess that might explain why it mostly seemed to work (I had assumed that the few were those merged into 'Empty Book' place holders. Thanks |
