Question about Spanish calibre translation

Is there any way I can "customize" a calibre translation. There's a recent minor change that's grating on my nerves ("Correcto" instead of "Aceptar") and I would like to know if I can change it in my computer without downloading all the calibre source.

Yes, I can contribute, but I don't want really to chance a text for everybody, who can be happy with it, but for myself, that I don't like it (childish but...)

Well why not look at the Translations FAQ part of that page, especially the sections Contributing translations to calibre and How do I test my translations?

Alternatively you can download the PO file to do your translations offline by using the "Download for translation" link instead of the Translate Now button. You can edit the PO file using your favorite translation software and when you are done, upload the file by clicking the "Upload file" link (which is just below the Download for translation link).

First you need to download a .po file for your language from here. You can test your .po file by running calibre from the command line from the directory in which the .po file resides. This is only tested in Linux. On windows also it should work. On OSX, since you can't launch the GUI from the command line, try putting the .po file in your home directory. Note that the .po file must be named according to the language, so for German it would be de.po, for French fr.po and so on. Normally, when getting the file from Transifex, it is named correctly automatically. Currently, it is not possible to test the User Manual translations.

It works if I open it from the command line. I don't know how to make it work with a shortcut. Well, I think I'll test it a bit more.

If Windows I think all you need is a Windows shortcut that runs calibre but sets the "Start in" directory to the directory that contains the translation.

In my case I tried

• Right click on desktop and selected New Shortcut
• Typed in C:\Program Files\Calibre2\calibre.exe as the item to make a shortcut to
• Typed in Test Translation as the name of the shortcut
• Once the shortcut was made, located it on my desktop, right clicked and selected Properties
• Changed the Start In field to the directory that contained my new PO file
• Selected the OK button

Now I have a new shortcut for calibre that launches it from the directory containing the translation.
