Has anyone updated their PRS-T1 firmware version 1.0.07.05070 available at the link below?

I have a T1 and a short flick works fine. Touch panel works very well. Dictionary lookups are good. I don't use the net. But the one time I did, it worked no problem.

I don't see a need to update the firmware. Plus, I have the modified reading app and I don't know if it would be compatible.

Thanks, I also didn't see a need to update the firmware but went ahead anyway and updated. . . page turns seem a bit faster and now I have access to Kobo Books on my ereader.

You did not have to update the firmware to be able to read most Kobo eBooks on your T1. I've read eBook bought from Kobo on my T1 without the need to update. Besides, I like the modified reading app. I would not want to go back to stock.

I think he meant he has access to the Kobo Market directly from his T1. When I updated my T2 it removed the Sony Market icon and replaced it with a Kobo Market icon.

Yes, that's correct. There is also no need to update firmware to add Google Play books to Sony Readers (see link below).
