How to delete Series?

Hi guys, I'm a little bit lost, how do you delete Series? There's a lot of junk now I don't use anymore.

Not reversible. No Undo

select all the titles you want to fix
tap 'e' (bulk metadata edit)
Tick the box 'clear Series'
OK or apply

I don't mean deleting a series from a book, but deleting a Series from the drop down / database entirely.

Got to Series in the tag browser (the panel to the left), find the series name you want to delete, right click on it and choose delete. It will be removed from the database and from all books.

BTW: using theduck's method to remove a series name from all books will also remove it from the database.

But the Tag Browser only shows series that are actually correct and are used by books, not he ones which are faulty and not used anymore.

Or am I missing something?

If there is an entry in the drop down then it means it is still being used by a book in your library. Entries will disappear from the dropdown as soon as there is no book using it.

Or
you have damaged your library by doing things beneath the skirts that it knows nothing about.

Run the Library Maintenance tool and fix those reported errors

(Not sure if updated in book series will be caught)
To repeat: If the series appears in the Tag Browser (series) section. There IS at least one book using that
