Cool reader is driving me mad!!!!

I have been using Cool Reader on my ASUS TF101 for a while now and think it is great. However, trying to do something today is driving me mad!!!!

I manage all the eBooks on my PC using Calibre and today I have been trying to change some metadata, but, cannot get Cool Reader to recognise the changes.

1) Changing the name of an author (Koontz, Dean to Dean Koontz) to match the rest of books I have already loaded under that name. If I now do an Author list then it still says I have 1 book for Koontz, Dean - when I click to look at it then the book is not listed

2) I have added series information to 4 books and, again, when I transfer to the ASUS and look in Cool Reader then only one of books has this information

Is there any way to force Cool Reader to clear out all the metadata it has and rebuild?

Did you try deleting those books, using CoolReader itself, before trying the resend? I don't know whether that would work but it's worth a try if you haven't already.

On the other hand, if calibre metadata is important to you, have you considered the Calibre Companion android app? It will manage your calibre metadata on an android device much better than anything else on the market plus you get to choose which reading app to use to do the actual reading of your books. It works seamlessly with CoolReader. It's very reasonably priced and has a free demo version so you can test drive it.

I spent ages deleting files, rescanning, re-uploading, etc. and got nowhere. So, I took the nuclear option and uninstalled Cool Reader, cleared all its settings, and then installed again.

All in now well.

I will look into the app you mention and download.
