OVERDRIVE App crashes since update!

Hi guys,
I updated my latest gen iPod Touch to iOS 7, so not sure if the OS or the app itself is the culprit, but as soon as I try to download an ePub, the app now crashes. Every.single.time. The one MP3 I tried went through.

Has anyone else experienced this?


I haven't updated my iPad yet, and my Android devices have no issues with downloads.

I can't speak for Overdrive as I don't use it. So far on my iPad and iPhone I've only encountered one app that won't run under iOS 7. That app is iExposure and is used for photography calculations. It was never updated for iOS 7 so that is probably why it won't run.

EDIT: I just checked iTunes and iExposure has not been updated in over two years. Another abandoned app I guess. No wonder it won't work.

I have the same problem. It crashes when you try to download a book. The previously downloaded books are there just fine, but you can only see the icon of the new books. Try to download and it closes the app. I hope they fix it soon!

EDIT: Should have said I am using the iPad app with iOS 7. I have not updated my phone yet.

There is an explanation and work-around in the app store.

The upgrade to iOS7 has resulted in problems for many OverDrive Media Console users.

We are working on getting a new version into the App Store. If you do not want to wait for the fixed version, you can complete the following steps -- but note in advance that they are not ideal as re-installing will clear your bookshelf, history, and app settings...

1. Uninstall OMC.
2. Re-install OMC.
3. Re-authorize your device with your Adobe ID when prompted.
4. Download your title(s) again.

Bookworm-Girl, thanks for posting this.
Maybe I'll wait for the new version - with 4 different libraries it's such a drag to set the iPod up from scratch, and I have my Nexus 4 to fall back on....
