Troubleshooting Make overs show up on Kindle for Android

I remember reading about covers not showing up on books out of the personal documents. The solution to clear the application data might work, but not reliably. I had to enter my account data again, and remove the old app from the manage kindle page. Covers still won't show up afterwards. On books that do show the cover a simple remove from device and redownloading from cloud reliably gets rid of the cover. Removing application data is unaccaptable to me so I found a workaround by accident today:

Kindle for Android will rebuild all missing covers after a simple closing of the program and restarting. This has to be done either in app settings and force close - or with any convenient task manager (e.g. the one built in to samsung tabs) or any other task killer that lets you close active or cached apps. After that start Kindle for android back up and all books that are downloaded to home will show up with their covers. For some stupid Amazon reason the books still won't get covers in the archive. The covers show up even on books that don't show covers on my Kindle touch. This works reliably every time to get covers to show in Kindle for Android. And another reliable way to remove the cover again is delete from device and redownloading from cloud.

Once and only once did a "deliver to android" show a cover. So them covers appear to be still a server problem with delivery AND very strange cache handling of the android app itself.

At least force closing Android app and reopening shows covers correctly. I am happy with that. If it works for everybody else that would be nice too. (I tested this on my Thunderbolt and on my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 - and works for both the phone and tablet version of Kindle for Android using latest 3.7.1.8 - it worked on 3.6.0.? as well before I updated the App on tablet.)
