I have noticed that many members of MobileRead either own or have on order several types of readers, e.g., a Kindle and a Sony 505. I am curious as to why you who own (or have on order) more than one brand of reader have bought (ordered) multiple brands.

In my own case I ordered a Sony because it was the first eInk reader available (PRACTICALLY available, for the pedants - I'm not counting the Librie). I then bought an iRex iLiad because of its MobiPocket support (I like MobiPocket because it's a "de facto" standard, available on many platforms). Finally, I bought a CyBook because it too supports MobiPocket, but is (for me) more convenient to carry around and use than the iLiad.
