How do I show the filenames of my videos?

I just got a Kindle Fire several days ago, and I've recently copied some of my videos over to it to play. I can go into the Gallery application and see and play them. However, the videos appear as thumbnails and I don't know which video is which. I did find that I can use the menu at the bottom to select them and get the details, but that takes a lot of tapping for each video.

Is there a way to have the Gallery show the names next to the thumbnail, or only the name, so that I can see which video is which?

I haven't seen a way of doing this with the default gallery app on the Fire. It's possible with 3rd party video apps. You'd also get the benefit of better file format support if you choose to use one of those.

Correct, the Gallery app doesn't do this.
You might want to try the free Moboplayer app. It's a pretty popular vid player.
You'd have to get it from a source other than Amazon I think.

Alternatively, if you just REALLY want to use the Gallery app, you could install a file manager app like File Expert, and browse and launch your videos from there.

A different video player is the better option, I think.
