quotations are bars in PDB conversions
No matter what format I use, when I convert to PDB all quotations and apostrophes are solid bars.

easy fix
I did find the solution to this problem. Click on the PDB output icon. Set the output encoding field to 'utf-8'. All subsequent conversion is then correct.
