Sony ads ?

Just out of interest, in the big build up to the spend-fest that's Christmas, has anyone seen any big /prominent ad's for the Sony T1 ? I don't think I've seen even one.

Here in UK, kindle ad's stick in yer eye from all angles, and any number of retailers, and recently (noticed one this a.m.) Kobo is saying "buy me" in the national press with 1/3 page adds (£9.99 & £69.99 both wifi as far as I could make out - not a great ad-reader) courtesy of W. H. Smiths.

As I said, I don't usually notice/take-in ad's, and can't remember the last time I was swayed to reach for wallet because of one for anything, but I can't help think that simple public exposure or brand recognition might be a plus, especially at this impulse-time of year.

I don't have television, but the Prs-T1 is featured on some of the Sony flyers I get in the mail.
The one we got Kimmy hasn't had problems and I hope they sell a lot of them.

I saw a TV commercial (in the US) for the Sony app store. It wasn't called the Sony app store, but that's really what it was. I didn't know that Sony had such a thing. I don't think you can run any apps on the T1, though? Anyway, the ad featured Sony tablets and TVs, it didn't show the T1.

I thought I caught the tail end of an ad for it when I flipped on the TV, but it was just one of those news program previews on a story about christmas shopping that happened to feature ereaders and tablets and where to buy them.

Nope. Saw an awful commercial for the nook, though.

There was a full-page on the back of the front section of the Wall Street Journal on the Friday or Weekend edition after Thanksgiving. It was advertising the ability to get an electronic subscription and read the WSJ on the T1.

It's one of the items in the miles rewards catalogue from CapitalOne :/ Not sure if that counts as an ad. Sony has always been a silent 2nd or third in the whole ereader business almost from the start.

I haven't seen an ad for a Sony Reader in years, if ever at all. I only heard about it when I was researching getting a Kindle and came across some info about Sonys.

It's too bad really. For some reason they just don't market Readers, and people think their only options are Kindle and Nook. Obviously Sony don't mind enough to do anything about it though.
