Best Price for Kobo

I am planning to give both my wife and daughter a Kobo Touch for Christmas. Apparently, FutureShop has a one day dale tomorrow. The KT is $119. Does anyone know if anyone else has a better price?

Whoa. No, I haven't seen a better price anywhere other than someone mentioned refurbished Touchs once. I think.

I just saw a Walmart ad for the WiFis for $88. Hmm, but likely not in stock in the stores in Edmonton.

Kobo's email today was $139 for the KT and a $20 gift card.

I got one from Toys r'us for $119 a couple weeks ago.

I think $119 is the best price this christmas.

I bought a Kobo Touch today and was able to use a coupon (card) given to me by a salesperson in the store. The coupon is called "Twice as nice" and gives you a discount on a purchase totalling $50 or more for your first visit, and then double the discount on your second visit (at least 24 hours later) also on purchase of $50 or more. The discount is hidden and shows up after the cashier rings in your purchase, variable from $5 to $5,000. My discount was $5, and it was applied after tax.

Thus I paid somewhere in the vicinity of $115 ($128.28 = price after tax) for my Kobo Touch.

Staples

Now at Staples...Kobo Touch for $109. I bought two from FutureShop a few weeks ago for $119 each. Went in yesterday and they price matched the Staples price. Can't beat that!

Ohhh...I'll be curious to how how you like your KT compared to your Nook. One of my co-workers bought a Nook and she loves it!

I haven't had time to play around with it much. I do see ghosting on the Kobo and I don't have that on the Nook.

Go into the advanced settings (press bottom of the screen when you're in a book, then press the wrench, then select Advanced Settings) and you can change it to between 1 and 6 pages refresh. It defaults to 6 so dropping it may get rid of the ghosting for you.

I read on this forum that ghosting can be caused by cold temps...so if you've stored your kobo by a window or a cool place, that could be why...
