resetting did not work.
can't update either.
i left it to charge overnight and accidently turned off ther computer. this morning the screen was blank so i recconnected it and now its like this.

please help.

edit. it should be USB condition in the title.

edit. just wanted to add that now it won't respond to anything i do.

Put it in a charger. Not the USB one. Use the 5.2V brick connected by jack.
Let it charge for several hours
Remove memory card.
Do a full reset https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Sony...der#Hard_Reset

I think you have a fair chance of recovering.

When the battery is totally flat the Reader (I talk about PRS500) will not charge from USB.
