Will the new Sony reader be radioactive ?
Radioactive Japanese cars in Russia :
http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Globa...nd-into-Russia Radioactive Japanese cars in Chile : http://content.usatoday.com/communit...s-from-japan/1 Radioactive Beef from Fukushima Sold in 26 Prefectures : http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2011/07/r...a-sold-in.html People, from Mayor of Yokohama City on down, say "We thought it was safe because it was being sold in the market." Japanese Government Will Lift Shipping Ban on Cows from Fukushima and Miyagi (Hello Radioactive Beef Again) : http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2011/08/j...-shipping.html Sumitomo Osaka Cement Shipped Radioactive Cement Made From Koriyama Sewage Sludge in Tochigi, Ibaraki, Gunma Prefectures : http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2011/05/s...dioactive.html Radioactive Tea in France Was Made in Shizuoka : http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2011/06/r...s-made-in.html Now, Radioactive Sanitary Napkins?? : http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2011/08/n...y-napkins.html Fukushima Teacher Pressured to Resign Over His Effort to Protect Children from "Invisible Snake" (Radiation) : http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2011/07/f...to-resign.html I will not buy anything from Japan that I have not tested myself with a Geiger counter. Especially since my Japanese friends living in Japan told me the government and the mass-media lie all the time. Nobody trusts them anymore in Japan. They only read infos written by independent citizens on internet, and rely on a network of citizens who own Geiger counters. |

My 505 and 650 were made in China. I would expect the same for the new Sony reader.

After my designed-in-China reader definitively stopped functionning, after functionning buggily for more than a year, I decided my next reader would be either a Sony or a Kindle, to be sure reading on e-paper would be an enjoyable, quality experience. And I would prefer a model with a card-reader, so a Kindle would be my second choice. But unless I see pictures of this new Sony model next to a calm Geiger counter, I will not buy it. |

Are we expecting it to remain radioactive permanently? Will there be a half life for prs T1?
I thought this thread would be about how we expect too much from the T1...even hoping it might turn us into the incredible hulk or be a source of energy. |

Radioactive huh ? Well at least that could qualify as some high-end function, to turn me into some super hero with super powers. I wouldn't be so disappointed from the lack of a stylus and a color screen anymore.

Just inoculate the white stuff in the e-ink with the (radioactive) stuff they used to put on the hands of wrist watches to let you tell the time of night, all night long! So, who's gonna volunteer to leave their ereader lying down somewhere near Fukushima over night? Come on, there's bound to be someone (perhaps a bit older), who doesn't give a s*it about adverse irradiation effects. |

Not for use in apartments above the ground floor, (or on balconies!) - drop it and it might go through the floor & kill someone ..............
