Commercials....
is it just me or does every commercial these days exist solely to annoy? i don't think i'm exaggerating when i say nearly all of them feature some repetitive/annoying/fingernails on a blackboard element, whether its a song thats used or a sound effect. i walk around all day with these earworms rattling around in my head. i'm almost literally unable to watch tv anymore and when i do the commercials are immediately muted.

did the people doing todays marketing go to the "head on" school of commercial production?

Even worse are radio ads.

Since they can't use visual aid, they desperately want to make you remember the aural effects; and for some reason, this usually leads them to make the advertisement as annoying as possible.

Couldn't agree more. In fact I find the commercials a welcome break from the diabolical psychic torture that is most television these days.
At least the commercials end after a minute but yes, they are mostly horrible. (Local Mattress Ranch guy I'm looking at you . Please stop dancing.)

In Dutch tv advertisements there seems to be trend to use children and those are usually very creepy children. But what's most annoying is that some ads you see almost every ad break, for me that's a reason not to buy the product.

The FCC really should regulate TV commercials and make it so they cannot be louder then the program they are advertising with.

Some commercials are louder, but generally they simply use compression to make it sound louder without a significant difference in amplitude.

Commercials are certainly one of the reasons I don't miss TV.
