Random noise and crashes/lockups while in sleep

I have a rooted nook color (auto-nooter.) It worked great for several weeks, and we found it VERY useful. Rooting really made the device. A couple weeks ago, it started to behave badly. About once a day, while off (asleep, screen dark) it would make 4-5 loud bursts of static, go blank (but with blacklight on.) After that it becomes difficult to use... most of the time the N button is unresponsive and it behaves rather slow. A forced reboot clears it up. I'm probably going to re-flash and reinstall everything, but I'm trying to figure out if this is a software or hardware issue. If others are seeing it on rooted nooks, that might be a clue. So, all I'm really looking for is to hear from others if they have seen this. Apps installed after auto-nooter: Android VNC Angry Birds Dolphin Browser ColorNote Home Switcher Pure Calendar Pure Grid Thanks for any info you all may have. |
