Slow cover and Metadata retrieval times.

Is it me or does this seem to be very slow and timeout frequently since the last update (0.7.38 )? I have the ISBN in a lot of cases that I pulled from Amazon and it still times out a lot and takes as much as 90 seconds to pull the info if it doesnt time out. I also noticed it times out more frequently when you are in the Editing Metadata screen than in the list using CTRL-D. I tested my upload/download speed and im running 11MB/sec top speed and see no speed problems anywhere else. I turned off the firewall to rule that out and even the anti-virus, but nothing seems to help. I am running a T61 with 3BG RAM and WINXP PRO, nothing fancy. Anyone else notice this or am I spending too much time cataloging and not enough time reading

I am also having this problem. Sometimes Calibre crashes when the metasearch takes forever. I'm on a linux machine using Firefox.

What Linux / version?
What calibre version?
Why is Firefox a concern?
