Back again: Installed CCR on my regular calibre install (i.e. Program Files/Calibre2)
Not sure where we got to with the Refresh in Shortcuts, but I am pretty sure it's working fine on CCR 2.0.8 BR |

It would be quite useful to be able copy the info in the green box to the Clipboard - as text. Where are you getting the "C:\_Appdata\Calibre" and what do think it designates? Calibre 8.10.0 is installed in the default location:- C:\Program Files\Calibre2 The C:\_Appdata\Calibre folder is where I store the Calibre 'control' data : Some of which is referenced by Environment Variables In my case it would be more meaningful if that line read: Code:
Installed @ C:\Program Files\Calibre2 using C:\_AppData\Calibre\Config_64bit Most, probably all, scroll bars in Calibre have arrows at both ends via which the scroll bar slider can be moved in small increments. Is there any reason that the scroll bars in CCR can't have those arrows. When I want to use them repeatedly, I set the Windows Ease of Access tweaks so that I can 'press' them via the Numpad arrow keys. BR |

Original intent was that the location at the top would facilitate access to config folder, either on Portable or Standard installs...
(Of course, also intended to give user more visibility of what Calibre install they're working on.) Since the open configuration folder was implemented, I choose to remove the clickable path and trim the Appdata path on Standard Installs. Not sure if displaying the Calibre standard install location would be useful, will think about it. New version will address some improvements you asked before |

Are you using a custom appdata location ?
the normal is %appdata%\Roaming %appdata% resolves in my case to: C:\Users\thedu\AppData\Roaming |

i think i can display for Standard Installs just the caption "Standard Install" (this is enough to differentiate from portable instances)..

On the other hand, the fact that you can't open multiple instances of Calibre at the same time means you can never be in an instance of Calibre except the last one you opened. Because of that, I'm almost always aware of which instance I'm using and exactly where it's located. Having that info on the screen would be nice, but not exactly mandatory. |

thanks for your inputs @fidvo!
I have published version 2.0.9: - on standard calibre installs (OS wide installations as opposed to portable), location info displays "Default Install" - custom columns tab: added web search template field - shortcuts tab: user defined shorcuts option added to dropdown chooser; table formatting for those is emphasised. - plugins tab: added 'Is disabled' column (note: only some plugin types can be disabled in Calibre e.g. metadata sources) - plugins tab: On the dropdown selector, moved 'Not in index' item to first option, followed by 'Extend calibre generally". - copy info context menu and respective shortcut have been added (main dialog header information data, as requested) - general fixes |

For me, a shortcut to shift focus in and out of the lists is far more important. The lack means I have to use the mouse to access widgets that don't have an accelerator key — e.g: Plugins: Show, Filter, and Category, whereas I can use accelerator keys for widgets that have one — e.g: Plugins: Manage Columns, Save CSV, Export XLSX and Reset Columns. BTW: Why isn't Plugins "Save CSV" the same as the other four tabs — "Export CSV". I note that scroll bar sliders in CCR have a bluish tinge, which makes them a bit easier to see when there's a small slider - any idea why? I wouldn't mind seeing it everywhere. I don't set colours in Calibre and in Windows I only set the so-called Highlight colour, which Redmond promptly ignores in most of its apps ![]() BR |

It scrolls the list up and down a row or two (wobbles) and the changes just made are NOT displayed. If I stop and start CCR the changes just made are there. If the list doesn't wobble the changes just made are displayed. No obvious pattern, i.e. number of changes made - happened on 1 and on 2, 3. FWiW - The changes in shortcut selection and highlighting show that I have overridden all but four of the default keyboard shortcuts - many with None. |

Thank you for detailed info. I'm working on test version for the scrollbar arrows.
Refresh issue in Shortcuts tab: I still can't reproduce, might post a video capture later. Change shortcut (while CCR is open) -> click refresh table -> no going awry seen... Scrollbar handle: it took me a lot of time to come to an outline color that would work well both in dark and light theme. It's QSS: self.setStyleSheet(""" QScrollBar::handle { border: 1px solid #5B6985; /* subtle border */ } Last edited by Comfy.n; 09-14-2025 at 03:14 AM. |

Ah-ha… I think it might occur if one goes back and forth between CCR and the Shortcut editor multiple times. I was 'fixing' a group. going back to CCR, hitting Refresh to have a look, and then back to the editor to 'fix' another group. |
