I'm new user of iliad 2nd, I successfully replaced original batteries with 2*2400mah ones, and copy iLiadPowerManagement-0_90 files step by step. iLiad works normally. But the battery icon is malfunction, even after reboot and charge fully, the icon is still grey. What can I do to activate battery icon? Hope your reply! |

PM me your contact details. I just ordered those batteries but it looks like I'll be parting with my Iliad so I won't need the batteries. I'll order them again in the worst case so I can send the ones I have at the moment to you. Let me know if you still need the batteries.

After changing the battery, the instructions as it follows:
"You will have to manually install the files as follows: Manually create the directory "/lib/modules/2.4.19-rmk7-pxa2-irex1/kernel/drivers/irex". Copy battery.o to /lib/modules/2.4.19-rmk7-pxa2-irex1/kernel/drivers/irex/battery.o Copy powerMgr to /usr/bin/powerMgr Copy start.sh to /home/root/start.sh Reboot, and you're done!" How can I get to these directories in winXP? |

Hi, I don't know if anyone's still keeping an eye on this thread, but this seems like the most relevant place for this question.
I have an iLiad V1 with duff batteries, so I went ahead and bought the new batteries for this mod from batteryspace.com, however, then I realised my iLiad's software is v2.12. Does anyone know if the replacement batteryManager software linked to in this thread works on 2.12? Thanks in advance! |

Terminal tabs
Hi, I'm willing to try one of those, I see many are missing the terminal tabs, can you just solder on tabs yourself?

I'm having a really hard time finding any batteries that would fit shipped from europe. I've emailed alot of shops, ebay sellers as well with no luck. In that list from battshop.eu none of the batteries comes with the tabs for soldering so I don't know what to do?
Help me Obi Wan Kanobi you're my only hope |

Batteries for Europe
Hey guys from Europe,
I successfully replaced the batteries with these ones: http://www.alpha-crucis.com/en/batte...385048716.html They ship very cheap (5 euros). I used the emelFM2 File Manager to change the files powerMgr, start.sh and to create the directory for battery.o. No ssh connections if you don't want them! Greetz! success!
Ordered the exact same batteries as harakhty to france. Cheap shipping.
I've never soldered in my whole life before so I was a bit nervous. I had some trouble getting the old soldering tabs off so I cut them off first then used the kind of razor blade you use to clean ceramic stove tops with to get the last pieces off, then I sanded them a bit. New batteries came with a plastic connector so I just pulled the cables out of it and kept red and black far away from each other Put some solder mixed with flux directly on the circuit board metal pads and attached the cables red on the left, black on the right. I had the batteries outside of the case while soldering, also I had to modify the case, bend off and sand down some plastic to make the batteries fit. Taped like a paranoid man to avoid shorting and it worked like a charm I know the stuff is obvious to some but for any other noobs like me out there I just wanted to share anything that might help. I used harakhty's suggested file manager to copy over the power management files. Will the battery lamp turn green or switch off when batteries are fully loaded? I'm still a bit nervous the whole thing will explode Thanks for all help! Last edited by azlurz; 09-22-2012 at 01:39 PM. |
