I don't know if I need to give specific informations.

Mine is a Kobo Glo and it's someway bricked, as a last try I would like to see if an sd card restore will fix it...

My Kobo Glo froze during a reset and doesn't do anythinge else now.
I'd greatly appreciate the image to try to revive the SD crd.

Hello all, it seems that my Kobo Glo as issue with the SD (not anymore recognize by PC do i guess it is corrupt) I really appreciate if you can send the image to replace it.

Is the device working except for not being seen by the PC? If so, the image isn't needed.

At the moment, the most likely reason for this is that it is a Windows 10 PC that has been updated with the Anniversary Update which broke how Windows mounts the Kobo devices. If that is the case, there is a couple of extra updates in the released in the last few days fixes this.

If it is running and you aren't using Windows 10, reboot both the PC and the device, check different USB port and cable. And maybe another PC. After that do a factory reset.

If it isn't running, you should still try a factory reset. If that doesn't work then the image usually helps.

Hi Davidfor,

first thank you for your quick feedback.

I already try different stuff: use different usb, change cable, hard reset (at least a couple), reset of the usb setup on pc, antivirus and firewall fresh reinstall. I reboot so often in this period that i move automatically the mouse to win-power-reboot .

There is not way to have the Kobo seen from the pc.

I decided to test it on another pc (win 10 up to dated on both pcs) and there was no issue at all (kobo seen and connection working). I reloaded the books from this pc but even if the memory was occupied (300 MB around for 400 books), there is nothing to read on the Kobo, you can see only the cover and then you have the reading counter to 100%.

This behaviour drives me to think that the SD should be corrupted.

So i'ld like to see if changing the SD I will be able to use the Kobo again but i'd like to not get the image from the current SD.

Any further suggestion?

The issues with the reading the books suggest that either the books have problems, or the database on the device is corrupt. For the former, you need to check the books somehow. Epubcheck, or the validation in either Sigil or the calibre editor will tell you if there is a problem.

If it is a database issue, you will need to sign out of the Kobo account on the device. This will generate a new database when you sign in and reload your books. If that doesn't help, do a factory reset.

If this continues to happen, then it might be a failing SD card. In that case, the image will help, but I don't think you are at that point yet.

I was thinking the same:
- books problems: i normally use calibre to manage and i have no issue with the books on the second Kobo (Glo HD) i use. Anyway now i did the hard reset the kobo is empty and there is not connection yet.
- database issue: with hard reset you need to recreate it but the problem still persist.

One hour ago, during another attempt for a moment the PC saw the Kobo and i was able to see the contemt of the sd with the pc (on my pc it is drive F and the label was Koboreader (or something like that). But then it vanish again and I see the drive F: present but i can't open it (it told me that the drive is not ready). I can only dismount it

David, just install the new Win10 updating KB3176936 and KB3176934 and now the Kobo is back again.

You was right on your first post. I don't like how win10 manage the updating. Too automatic for my preference. I definitely prefer more control.

Constant crashes, lost imagefile
Could you please send met the link to the image once more? I've recieved some year ago but due to a computercrash I have lost it. Want to refresh my SD card because of fequent crashes and spontanic reboots of Kobo GLO.
