I know the feeling, I keep checking if it's online but keep being sent to the UK store. Maybe they're opening tomorrow, on Halloween, or maybe on the 1st of November. It would surprise me if they open later than mid-November, after that time they'll miss out on the Sinterklaas rush. |

Out of curiosity, as a Dutchie (with Dutch cc and billing address), if this store ever does become reality, does that mean I'll be restricted to buying e-books from the Dutch store? Somehow, I don't think it'll be as large as the US one... e-books aren't exactly big in the Netherlands.

That's certainly the way it works with the other national Amazon stores, yes. Eg, if you're in the UK, you can only buy eBooks from "amazon.co.uk". But I would imagine that the hypothetical "amazon.nl" would display the same books that are currently visible to you on "amazon.com".

I hope not, but I'm afraid it will. Just in case I have only $0.43 on my gift card account left. I do hope that the Dutch Amazon will have a good selection of English books on offer and that they're going to use iDeal (Dutch online paying method). I think that if the latter won't be implemented and they will only accept credit cards they will miss out on a lot of customers since many in Holland haven't got a credit card.
