Quote:
Katniss starts the series fairly empowered in her own life. The rest of the books include moments of empowerment, but far more often she is being manipulated and steered around. In each book, even the last, the situations she is in and the actions she take only serve to confuse her and damage her emotionally. Lets also keep in mind that she is a classic unreliable narrator. There is plenty of evidence in the story that her perception of herself and others is skewed by her experiences. -- Bill |

To be honest, I think you're attempting to dig far deeper than the books warrant. It's a post-apocalyptic story which one either finds enjoyable or not, not a work of profound philosophical value meant to teach one important things about life, the universe and everything.
