I bought the Steig Larson books for my dad about a month ago. As far as pbooks for myself, I haven't bought one is well over a year, the time I've had my Kindle.

I'm considering buying Follet's new Fall of Giants in hardback. Its cheaper than the ebook. Its my act of disobedience to protest the ebook price. I'll make sure it gets as many free reads as possible, lending it to as many as I can, then I'll donate it to the public library.

What civil disobedience? What you propose is perfectly legal. Be sure to let the publisher know what you are doing and why.

I bought a couple of items during the recent 50% off coupon offer at Fictionwise; print book ... back in June as a gift for my mom.

Hi. I bought a Kindle a few months ago and haven't even been in my local indy bookshop since, which I feel a little guilty about. This morning I had to get up early with the kids and had found, bought and started reading a brilliant book of short stories* before sunrise! I can't imagine buying any more fiction in print, but I'll do my best to help the bookshop by buying things like cookbooks etc at Xmas!

* - 'Miracle Boy' by Pinckney Benedict - tough and gritty but great stuff.

I just purchased two this week:

- "Legion Of 3 Worlds" by Geoff Johns, George Perez, and Scott Koblish.

- "Tangent Comics - Volume 1" by various writers and artists.

Both are trade paperbacks that collect several issues of two different comic book series. I still regularly purchase pbooks in the form of comic books, and trade paperbacks, and I also occasionally purchase some monthly magazines.

Not counting freebies...

ebooks: Pre-ordered Side Jobs: Stories From the Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher. Purchased The Valley, and The Invasion by William Meikle, and The Get Healthy, Go Vegan Cookbook by Dr. Neal Barnard. I also picked up a few things from Smashwords and Fictionwise that I can't recall atm. That's for September and October.

Paper: Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes on 9/25. I tried the ebook but it was in Topaz format so I returned it to Amazon. The Engine 2 Diet: The Texas Firefighter's 28-Day Save-Your-Life Plan and Reverse Heart Disease: The Revolutionary, Scientifically Proven, Nutrition-Based Cure, back in march.

And yes, I'm feeling much better these days, I'm down almost 60 pounds, and the Dr. took me off my last diabetes med on Monday

I'm sure I'll read them, too. Just need to get in the mood for post apocalyptic survival literature. Of course I'll read the dead electron version.

I bought 16 e-books in September- 2 from Amazon and 14 from Baen; and another book from Baen this month.

Also downloaded some free books.

I'll probably be reading awhile before purchasing again, but I have 7 more books on my Baen wishlist.

I bought a "real" book for book club recently. I couldn't find it online in a compatible format for a decent price. It was cheaper to pick up a paperback at Borders.

I bought 4 paper books (art related) from Amazon last week. I much prefer ebooks. However I'm forced to buy physical art books because most aren't available as ebooks yet, even though an iPad displays them beautifully.

The art books that I have purchased are wonderful. The backlighting makes the paintings come alive, and you can tap on the pictures to zoom in. So I really hope the publishers catch on soon.

I've purchased six books from Kobo, one from SmashWords, and one from Baen over the last two weeks. The most recent purchases were on Thursday. Last month I purchased 13 books. All ebooks.

I plan to purchase between four and eight more books next week.

I bought one (a paper and ink one) about 2 months ago.

If it was available on Kindle in Australia I would probably have bought it on a Kindle (of course I didn't own one at the time so it is all academic).

BTW I rarely buy books from Australian bookstores - most of mine are bought from the UK (Bookdepository - free postage) (found using Booko) or I grab them from that big building full of books - aka the library.

Note I use Booko, I don't own or run it (I wish I did excellent site)

I buy 3-4 books a month

sometimes 'e', sometimes 'p'. I tell my wife it is still cheaper than smoking or drinking.
