Parked outside was an immaculate 1929 Isotta Fraschini Tipo; when we approached the car, the chauffeur appeared out of nowhere, announcing, "My name is Max." Getting into the car was like stepping into a museum piece.

As I settled back into the luxurious leather seat, I thought to myself "Now this is the life I deserve ... finally." Then the metal restraint bands shot out of the seat back and pinned me in place.

We headed out of town at a speed that had every car cop madly chasing after us.

My this thing could motor and within minutes we'd out run everything the city cops could throw at us; within minutes we'd reached the airport and parked outside a private jet.

I watched helplessly as the blonde bimbo and the driver boarded the jet. After the jet had taken off, the restraint bands mysteriously retracted, leaving me alone in this vintage set of wheels!

By now the main character has languished in limbo for a week or two, chewing on a lollipop a-la Kojak, pondering how the great man would have tackled this case and then how Sherlock Holmes and Ironside could have brought more thought into the equations.

In the distance I could see the jet trail from a private jet approaching, could this be our returning heroine (or is that a loose term that could explode in my face)?

Rubbing the ever-growing stubble on my chin, I happened to glance down and see an envelope partially hidden under the floor mat. Smoothly, I snatched the envelope and deposited it in my back pocket just as the plane started its descent.

I saw the 'plane land, not quite on the sixpence, but it was fairly neat, nonetheless. With somewhat baited breath and with my heart halfway to my mouth, I watched as the 'plane approached the area where I waited.

I watched the hatch open slowly, the stairs descend to the tarmac, and then .... those gams! My blonde bimbo client had returned to her "scene of the crime" at last!

Just then the "little person" turned, pointed, and exclaimed "De plane, boss, de plane!" to which the blond turned and yelled at the pilot to lock the frigging plane door. As she approached, I noticed a hard edge to her voice, a nasty but erotic sashay, and in her eyes a light from a distant fire; my "Smith & Wesson" was as excited as I was to see her again.
