Monday morning jump on Spring! I just transplanted 40 tulip bulbs, hopefully into a decorative pattern. The nursery down the street from my house was selling flats of 40 4"plants for about $20. I couldn't resist. Usually I'll plant bulbs in the fall but this year I kept my lemon grass and other herbs growing instead. When I saw the new tulips looking so healthy (and cheap!) I had to do something to bring Spring into the house!

That's right. Our condo is on the 6th floor of a 7 floor building. In Japan, virtually every apartment has a veranda, usually used for hanging futons. I've turned ours into an herb garden plus. After the tulips are done, basil, coriander, parsley, zucchini, and tomatoes will go in to join the lemongrass, rosemary, thyme, and oregano, plus one flat of oat grass for Felicity. Perhaps one or two pots of flowers just for color.

I just exchanged my winter duvet for my summer duvet. I'll probably need an extra blanket for a while but it's easier to get the extra blanket to get cozy and warm than waking up in the middle of the night because you're either too warm from the duvet or cold because you've kicked the too warm duvet off.

I was able to stuff my winter duvet in a bin bag without much trouble and during the cold snap I needed to put an extra blanket on top earlier than in previous years so I probably have to get a new duvet at the end of the year.

Getting ready to go and have blood tested. Which I have to fast for so no morning coffee or breakfast.

I don't know about ping pong balls, but there are enough catnip mice (with their tails bitten off) under our fridge and cabinets to attract the Pied Piper!

I want my dentist to use this. Last Tuesday I had the first part of a root canal treatment done. Today is the first day that I haven't taken any painkillers. Although the tooth itself is still a bit sensitive for pressure (which is normal) today is the first day my jaw doesn't hurt any more from the anaesthetic injections.

Sometimes the jaw muscle hurts just because it was pushed open a bit further than comfortable, and for a long while. That probably can't be avoided. [ Short of finding a three inch tall dentist. ]

That could also be it, or both. It could also be that it's still a sensitive area after the very forceful removal of the lower wisdom tooth on that side.

I had to take half a painkiller tonight because I had been a bit too enthousiastic with crunchy snacks tonight (I always get the munchies when watching Midsommer Murders).

I'm now making lists of what I still need to buy and what I need to pack for my holiday next week. I'm really looking forward to having a whole week of (normally I go away from Monday to Friday). Today I've explained to my dad how the new price tag printer works, I'll probably print out the instruction just to be sure.
