Ok, I stupidly forgot to uninstall the old software and botched the Reader software. I spent about 5 hours removing and adding the software. I used the advice from http://afterthefox.blogspot.com/ and finally found the Local folder and deleted that. If only I had paid closer attention to the Local folder and his instructions on the blog spot, I could have fixed it about an hour sooner
 Thanks! I'm a happy camper now.I still use calibre and the Reader library software...dunno why
