Have we determined yet that this is NOT new to 2.7.0? If so, I'd like to move the discussion to it's own thread (since it's not specific to this new release). We can leave it here until such time.

It's not invalid css after I finish typing...
the instructions to duplicate are in the video. Did you get a chance to look at it? If not, then the instructions are in my first post. |

I tried your instructions (see my test case) and I could not see any issue. BeckyEbook also tried my simple testcase and it worked on Windows. She then pointed out other "inconsistencies" but they are all expected behaviour and have existed in Sigil for many many releases.
She says she can recreate your issue but no one yet has provided a epub test case that shows it since my simple test case does not show it on any platform. |

I've attached a 'test' epub if you really need it.
Directions: - open copy.html so you get it to show in the preview window (PW) - open styles.css so you can edit the css but still have copy.html in the PW - type "color:blue;" (or any otherwise valid css) slowly...maybe with a pause in the middle on the first line of the div.copy p {} selector. - the PW will revert to a no-css applied view.... - it will not revert back to proper styles until you manually refresh the PW (either by clicking on the html tab or the Update Preview Window button) |

I did try it. It changed properly after you changed the colour. Then I could not see where your changed the tab to? Did you copy the new colour from that tab, then you returned to editing the css, and pasted it in, and it shows that after the paste, Preview did not update.
I tried that approach on MacOS and it all worked just fine. Did I replicate things incorrectly? Your video had no sound to explain anything on my Mac. |

if you type the css "color:blue;" one letter at a time, you will see the PW switching between proper style and no style. You can easily get it stuck on a "no style mode"....I'm guessing that there is a little glitch when calling the PW refresh??? |

Thanks for the test case and detailed instructions!
Okay, I tried again following exactly what you did (going back to see the class in the xhtml file) and tied typing very slow or very fast doing exactly what you did, and the new colour always shows up on MacOS. So no bug on MacOS. I will now try your test case with Linux and post my results from there. Last edited by KevinH; 12-03-2025 at 03:33 PM. |

Okay using your instructions and your test.epub on Linux (AppImage release build) there is no bug either, no matter how slowly or how quickly I type "color: blue;".
As soon as I hit the final ";" Preview updates just fine. So maybe DiapDealer or BeckyEbook can recreate what you are seeing on Windows with your test case and instructions. I can not on MacOS or Linux. Last edited by KevinH; 12-03-2025 at 05:28 PM. |

@Turtle91,
One thing to try, please go to Sigil Prefrences -> General Settings then click the Advanced tab and hit the checkbox to disable the GPU acceleration, save the settings, then and then restart Sigil. Then try your test.epub and instructions? Are you still seeing the problem? Last edited by KevinH; 12-03-2025 at 05:29 PM. |

I think to due to how complicated this issue may turn out, we should move the entire sequence to its own thread.
