I did the free month trial last year, and had a deal for £3.99 for two months earlier this year. The full price subscription doesn't make sense for me as I approach 2000 unread books (and it's more than I typically spend on ebooks in a month anyway), but there is enough on there for an occasional flyby when I get a deal.

They do (or did) have it the U.S. - and with a discount. They even had a 2-year offering with an even greater discount. Perhaps they have ended it.

I'm not interested in $12/month (although I might consider $120/year), so I'm not doing it. I've had this one for a while -- I check every now and again -- but the renewal rate is why I don't do it.

"Recipients with eligible accounts..." I wonder if that would apply to me when (if?) I cancel toward the end of September.

Also, does anyone here know if you can send yourself a Gift ?

You can definitely send yourself a gift, this is what I did for my KU membership last year. Got the 1 year deal, sent the "gift membership" back to my own account, and once it was applied I set it not to auto-renew.

I did this and it worked, today when I went to the KU page I got an offer of $4,99 for 2 months. It's the first offer I get in 2025.

I like KU if I get a deal but I won’t pay full price for it because if I like a book I always end up buying it. We don’t really get offers over here (I’m in the UK). I’ve bought three Kindle’s this year (yes I know) so I’ve had a free three months with each kindle. That expires in October.
