Yeah, the Kindle is basically a book replacement, it's not a general computing device or even a general media consumer. Sound output is restricted to Audible books and screen-reading. All app support (and it was very limited) was removed some years ago.

This is absolutely the wrong device for your intended use case unless your intended use case is reading.

It's like a DVD player that connects to a TV. Not like a laptop that has a DVD drive.

The next jailbreak will be posted when it is available. Currently, due to the nature of the exploit used, the jailbreak is waiting until Amazon has had a chance to review the exploit and likely issue a firmware update that will prevent the exploit from being used before going public. So keep your Kindle in airplane mode, fill all but 200MB of the exposed storage, whatever to keep your Kindle from automatically updating.

One of the few times that an exploit on a Kindle can be fairly easily used by a malicious actor.
