Calibre has been pretty quick in creating a new database from the ebook files, but no covers or metadata other than file names survive. So before I drop the subject do you have any idea if the Cover folder was created by Calibre? Also - I have unchecked the Sony collection box - if I connect the Sony and add a new book, will I lose the collections already on my sony 300? |

Unchecking that box tells calibre to manage collections and metadata itself. So yes, you do run the risk of losing existing collections that are not reflected in current Calibre metadata. If you are rebuilding a database, you might want to leave it checked so you can verify that your series and tags values are what they used to be.
