Hi folks, Just a recent update from my broken DR-1000S fix. I was told by iRex that hte screen was in stock. Then I agreed to pay the service credit and got the device sent in. Then iRex tell me that there is something wrong with the screens they had, so they had to reorder the screens from the provider. Then after about 2 months waiting this is what they tell me this morning: "Temporally, we are not able to helping you to start Repair due Irex Technologies B.V. is currently experiencing in suspension and forced to filed for bankruptcy protection situation, which means we are not able to send out or receiving anything. Please do not send back anything to us until we resolve this issue. Again we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. With you're willing to get refund the prepaid service credits, please contact one of the 2 person: Stassen & Kemps Luchthavenweg 81.114 5657 EA Eindhoven tel. +31 402676260 Mr. P.W.H. Get your refund ASAP. If the required parts are in stock, I guess iRex will be happy to replace the screen for you and collect the fee. Since the parts in stock is not available anymore, iRex have to order one from its supplier. However, with iRex's financial problem, it's not surprising that iRex can't order anything from its supplier for now. |

As stated above, go for the refund and ask them to return your reader (if it still has value to you). It is at present not sure if they go bankrupt. They might, but there is a chance that a party is found who is willing to invest in iRex. That is exactly what the chapter 11 is for: clean up the financial trouble. If they do go bankrupt, you will almost certainly get no refund. After they go bankrupt, you might be able to get your reader back, but you have to prove it is your property. |

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, iRex customer service told me that my device was in "pending for part" status, so they are not allowed to ship to me unless they got permission. So you think it is wise to go for the refund of the service credit? Thanks |

They're in bankruptcy, so I don't think warranty repairs are being done anymore. From what I understand, they are not legally allowed to ship/receive anything at this time.

for now the only thing you can do is waiting till the end of the month. then IREX hopes to come with more details about an possible takeover of the company. if that won't happen, the only thing what's left is line up with other creditors.
