A few items for the "alternates" list: * My Reader accepts any story I give it. My wife...not so much. * My Reader and I are always on the same page. * My Reader doesn't mind if I fall asleep in the middle of a story. * My Reader flips pages when I push its buttons. My wife occasionally flips out. * I won't get in trouble if I accidentally brick my Reader. |

Some people on librarystuff are offended by this ad. I thought it was funny but can see why somebody would be offended.

I think they're being a little too sensitive. We IT folks have been the butt of hundreds of jokes in media campaigns and we've never gotten all huffy about it. Much.

I'm an Aggie. I don't know of any group more joke-butted than Aggies. Did you hear about the Aggie that was so dumb the others noticed? Did you hear about the Aggie that got invited to join Mensa? ... Of course not. Did you hear about the Aggie that broke his arm raking leaves? ... He fell out of the tree. You know how they get him out of trees now that his arm is in a cast? ... They wave at him. Actually, we Aggies seem to come up with the best ones, come to think of it. |

The "A" and "M" stand for (or originally did, anyway) "Agricultural" and "Mechanical," respectively: "mechie" comes second on the list and just doesn't have the ring to it that "Aggie" does. Water off a duck's back, Nate, water off a duck's back. |

From a fellow Aggie from an Agriculture University in Canada, I always liked the one: How do you know, when walking, that you are getting near the Aggie campus? The sheep are backed up to the fence. |

I assume you are also issued with a set of "rubber wellies" and a manual on how to tell the cute sheep from the ugly ones? |

The Mensa type group for Aggies is called Densa. I once dated an Aggie. Great lady, a bit strange. (Yes, that is a theme with the women in my life.) While many females have needlepoint samplers on their walls, she had a barbed wire collection. |
