I believe we're down to 33-and-a-bit. The countdown could probably do with some nice, chunky strawberry jam though.

30!

I always liked 30. Nice number. Sort of human and civilised and full of promise. As in 9:30 is much, much more human and civilised that 9:00. Less military. Indicative of shorter meetings as well. It also sounds nice when applied to things, as in "here's thirty doughnuts", or "I'll just snooze for another thirty minutes".

Wikipedia says it is a square pyramidal number, a sum of squares, and so it means you can build a square pyramid out of that number of balls. Why anyone would want to try and build a pyramid out of balls is beyond me -- they'd just roll away. I'll stick with my thirty doughnuts and some more time in bed, if you don't mind.

just in case there are any doubters left, just compare how infinitely *more* civilised "11:30" sounds than 9:00.

i'd stick with the doughnuts too, but maybe you could build a pyramid out of them.

damned, now i want a doughnut, and (coincidentally) it's past 11:30 at night.
