Any fans of ASCII, however are recommended to avoid " " as this does cause problems. It can be mis-construed as zero. This has the unfortunate side-effect of annoying all the skipped numbers who then feel very upset. Trust me, you do not want a bunch of numbers upset at you. Especially if you are likely to shortly encounter exams, tax returns, flights or are expecting a utility or credit card bill... Sneaky things, upset numbers. And no-one believes you when you say the numbers are lying.
