You have the appointment this Saturday, will the windfall be confirmed by then as well? I'd hate to go to the appointment, fall in love, and have to back out of it.

This will be half your breeding pair wont it?! You're on your way now. I just want dibs on one in a year or so - at a substantial discount of course

no the windfall is in hand!

sad to say this will not be the first half of my breeding pair. I need a bit more cash in hand and a few other issues sorted out regarding the physical structure of my house first. maybe within the year? (I hope)

you haven't forgotten that there is an almost 200 pound Newfoundland in residence here have you? she dictates the show. actually kindle kitten was acquired for her. she was in mourning as much as I was when kindle kitten was murdered. I think Strider was a bit too old when he came on board to bond with her like kindle kitten did. hopefully this next little girl will bond a bit better!

Ohhh...Newfies are big babies!!! Who want to be lap dogs. She'll be a great surrogate mom to the new kitten.

Percherons and Warmbloods are great horses - gentle giants in my experience.

Can't imagine your feed bills (for all species!)

When we got our dog from the pound they said she was a lab/rottweiler mix, I was hoping for a nice 60 - 70 pound massive dog. Instead she is maybe 45 pounds and naps on the back of the couch like a cat.

So much for that idea, are next dog though will be newf or maybe another german shepherd (we had one a while back). Newf's are pretty expensive right now though.

you can probably find a Newfie for around 1500, at least in this area. you could also get on a Newf rescue list! as apparently you are aware, you just can't have a better dog with kiddos around!

typically breeders put it into the purchase contract that the animal is to be nuetered, and then there is actually an adjustment that can be made to the registration papers so that you can't breed. well actually obviously you CAN but any kittens could not be registered. when I was breeding Newfies before, I had another breeder as my mentor. I would want to do it that way again. a good breeder does not see competition, they see someone to work with and breed another line so they don't inner breed too much.

Although I am scared of horses. A horse named Tank tried to scrape me off on a tree once.
