No need to change GOTO PAGE. No need to localize.

If the concept is to add this as one of the options, then it seems reasonable to me. As long as I have the option to keep the regular setup this would be nice to experiment with. Who knows, I might even end up liking it more.

Until yesterday I had been happily using PRSCustomizer plus pepak's wonderful custom EPUB font hack plus the Dictionary-on-a-stick add-on (from the Sticky in this forum).

I had been putting off moving to PRS+ because I didn't really want to switch to the US Firmware (v1.1.00.18040) from my original UK version (1.2.00.18050) and I didn't want to lose the Dictionary app (I know it's a bit clunky but it's still more convenient than finding a paper dictionary).

However, the siren call of PRS+ being able to easily switch between epub custom fonts finally got too much for me and I decided to go for it. As a very nervous hacker, I read the installation guide about 10 times before I started.

Well, I'm pleased to say that I don't know what I was worrying about. The installation was so easy, thank you kartu

Feeling quite brave by now, I decided to add back in my missing PRSCustomizer bits (custom LRF fonts, pretty icons). Thanks to dwanthny's installation help notes this process was also a breeze. Thanks also to surquizu and angelofdarkwinds for the updated BookIcons, BookAssets images.

Finally, with no great expectations, I put my old Dictionary card back in the SD slot. Lo and Behold it worked as-is, just the same as before.

So, in conclusion, why would any PRS505 owner not install this fantastic upgrade. Thank you all for your efforts in adding value to our PRS505s.

P.S. Can I have my "proper British dates" back soon, dd-mm-yyyy?

Ok. I'm at my wits end. I've been trying for the past 2 hours to get the PRS+ installer to work.

I've extracted the zip onto the SD, inserted the SD into my 505 and the screen 'blinks', and does nothing.
I've re-applied the 1.1.00.18040 firmware twice.
I've tried two different cards, and nothing.

The great thing is that I know what I'm missing by not having it. I did have PRS+ installed, but I had to wipe my internal memory and lost it. Now I want it back! Help me please!

Maybe a daft question but do you have the unzipped folder contents on the card of the folder... once (by mistake) I put the folder and nothing works... just a quick thought... you can't expect great ideas at 1.00am

I unzipped the installer onto the SD card, so my top level item is the PRSPInstaller folder. It's not supposed to be the .zip file, is it? I interpreted "unpack" in the instructions as "unzip".

To add additonal information, my reader is 100% charged, and I have more than 70% free in the internal memory. I have never disabled SD card scanning, so I can't imagine it is off. Each card I used I freshly formatted it before moving the files onto it.

Right or wrong every time I have used the autorun feature the Sony Reader folder has been in the root of my SD card.

Guys, regarding PageIndex, did you come to a conclusion what is usefull and what not and which way is better? I want to finish this addon once and for all. Including "page per minute" and/or "page per hour" (if anyone needs it, let us also discuss which data would be used to calculate it) and key bindable action to reset the counter (I still wonder, if that's needed).

That's not needed. "Sony Reader" folder could be located in a subfolder, it should still work.

Good news for you, 1.1.x will come not only with "proper British date" option, but also with dictionary by Clemenseken & Lisak integrated.

The page index "as is" works for me, any additions would be interesting but I don't require them.

In this final version are you including a key bind for "enter" I believe you said it was gotolink. This was the default for the center joypad and used to navigate links easily within book. It would be nice to be able to reassign that function to another button since I now use the center joypad for turning pages.

Thanks for the massive effort you and the rest of the group has put in to this project.

Since I get used to the page-index, I don't want to miss it - including the percent-indicator any longer.



Any additions are appreciated, because I'm a little tech-freak and like having several opportunities...

However, you know that I admire this whole project with all of your tireless work you and all the other supporters do voluntarily, so that I would be happy with the page-index as it is up to the end of my eReader's life, because only you can judge the relationship between effort and use!
