I'm gunna give them a call and get a PRS-600!
Who knows why the PRS-500 needed to be replaced.. may be worth asking.
Thinking of asking for a leather cover (after all the PRS-500 I sent time had one..) and asking for a black PRS-600. (Scratches wouldn't show up so badly on black, or so goes my theory - PRS-600 owners however may have their own opinion).

Yay! My black PRS-600 arrived today!
Just warmed her up, put her in UK English mode, viewed a book or two, everything's sweet. (Must register my Reader with Adobe to read DRM'd stuff in a little bit).
Don't know if I'll get used to the keyboard gesture to change pages.. it was a hit and miss affair when I just tried it now.
The glare isn't as bad as advertised, although I haven't tried it in daylight yet.

Oh, and by the way: the spelling mistake in my name was propagated further: it was addressed with the wrong name written in pencil..
