Tote a Small Library to the Beach By Mike Musgrove Sunday, August 5, 2007; Page F01 http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...10.html?sub=AR You have to register with the Post to see the article. I am not going to paste the review here because of copyright concerns. It's a fairly shallow review. He discusses the battery life, the screen, Connect store, some current history of ebook publishing, and a few quotes. It's a shame he didn't find this forum. I am writing an email to him right now inviting him to this forum and offering our assistance in case he decides to write a follow up review. I will also ask if he can post the review here. |

Nate, you forget that for the Washington Post that passes for "extensive research and analysis." They are nowhere near the paper they were in the Watergate era.

The article's okay... remember, it's targeted at the casual Washington Post reader (one that will make it to section F, at any rate), not a technophile, and it does a reasonable job for that audience in that:
Points off, IMO, for actually saying "dead-tree". That'll only piss shelf-stuffed book-lovers off and polarize the audience. Other than that, nice and harmless. Last edited by Steven Lyle Jordan; 08-06-2007 at 02:22 PM. |

For the Post it's a Big Spread

As a full time subscriber to the Wash Post I thought it was one of their bigger articles on new devices. They even had graphics. And.. more often than not the Post has very negative comments about devices. So the reader "did good" BTW: I saw a mention of the Sony Credit Card Deal on one of the web sites devoted to bargain hunting: DealNews I think the Sony marketing folks are getting traction. |
