We used to change people's colour schemes to white text on white. Or if we knew they'd had a heavy night before we'd change the whole colour scheme to what can best be described as "angry fruit salad"

In one job one person insisted she could move her PC without any help - she was actually quite obnoxious about it. So we let her move it, then had someone call her away before she had chance to check it still worked. We powered it on, turned the contrast and brightness right down, then turned it back off again...

Same company, we set up mental phone loop. Mental because the system we had at the time couldn't easily be set to divert to another phone. It could be set to display a message to an internal caller to call a different number instead (it would still call the original number whilst showing the message). It took longer than expected for the person who wasn't in on it to work out what had happened.

My father in law did that by accident somehow once whilst writing a novel. It actually took me ages to work out why his opus magnum appeared to be a load of blank pages

I've gotten used to pulling my cursor over a large blank spot on posts IN THIS FORUM, just to see if people have put hidden text in there. They quite frequently do.

Watchng my cat try to "catch" the cursor. It's pretty funny, she sits right next to the monitor and she'll try to sniff the cursor and ends up smacking her nose against the monitor. When I drag it all the way down to the bottom she puts her paw underneath the monitor and tries feeling down on the bottom for it. Hee-hee-hee!

On my screen their BOTH pretty dastardly to see. I keep my monitor dim though, for eye reasons.

However, when I get an email with the new post, it's perfectly legible THERE!

I do that often in pale yellow. If I see one, I just click on Quote and everything appears...or not.

The Siamese discovered last year during Glee, that when that theme song plays, I'm going to be sitting still for an hour and watching that, and not typing, either. So, after about two weeks of this, he started running for my lap when he'd hear that theme song, and make me hold him while I watched it. It got pretty funny, he has this one position in my arms that we call his "Glee" pose. Well, tonight he came and got on my lap and got in his "Glee" pose. Then he started batting at the mouse. So, I gave in and went to Hulu.com and played last season's last episode for him. He purred and purred. Good thing Glee starts up again next month... cats don't seem to understand TV series hiatus....

But they do understand the idiot look we get in our faces when we watch TV. For one of the cats I had, it meant;"Mischief Time" . Peeing on carpet, bullying the other cat, tearing up plants, etc. When I found out what it meant, I took the habit of picking him up with me before a TV show. He loved that...

It is pretty entertaining. If I do it kind of fast she'll jump off the desk and when she figures out it didn't fly across the room she'll come back. Sometimes I do it so she'll get out of the way so I can type/see something and it gives me enough time to do what I have to do before she comes back.

I'm presently wondering how "texting" is done in France and other countries where the language has a heavy use of accents and diacritics (beyond just your regular old single critics?). I'm ridiculously particular about my text messages - they have to be spelled and punctuated properly, which is why I almost never send any. Are there separate keys for e and é and è on cellphones there?
