B&W was a conscious choice, in keeping with the traditional manga format. I quite agree! |

Here's the enamel pin I mentioned yesterday. I used a stamp for the basic shape-- I reversed the stamp by using it on a piece of polymer clay and using that as the stamp to imprint the silver clay. The silver clay was then fired, then I used the wet-packing method to add enamel, then fired again.

I should have taken a picture of the back, as well. I'd originally made it using a finding set that had separate sockets to be fired in place and a pinback part to add after firing was complete, but I lost the pinback and had to make a new one. I used heavy-gauge silver wire, hammered on the ends to give me a thin flat surface, which I drilled with a Dremel tool. Then I used eyeglass screws to fasten the pin back parts to the pin. I kind of wish I'd used the other shade of blue, rather than the dark Prussian blue, to contrast better with the Concord purple and transition better to the Peacock Green, but my mom was happy with the result.

I finished that big sculpture and delivered it this afternoon. There are pictures on my page. Tomorrow they start molding it. I might see it on the house they built sometime in august.

I've had the honor of being the Production Manager (AKA gopher) for a international Modding* group for the last five years. We are responsible for the cars in the above video (another team did the 1977 Le Mans track shown). Altogether we produced 125 historically accurate 1970 sports cars including 48 of the 51 1970 Le Mans starters. We created the models, sounds, and the physics that permit fans to drive these cars in a racing simulation game. The above is the result of two and a half years of effort and I am inordinately proud of it and my group. ![]() *Modding is the practice of altering a computer game to portray something other than what the game makers intended. |

Totally awesome work Yvan. Hope we can see it when it's on the house also. Maybe you can get a picture.

Norm . . . the cars look great at that speed. Just wish we could see it in slo-mo or still frame to get a closer look. Any chance? |

Here are some of my favorite screenshots. They are "professional" and have been retouched, mostly for backgound. BTW, to give you some idea of how accurate the cars are, the helmet colors are correct for each driver.

One more. This is Vic Elford's Porsche 917 at Sebring in 1970 and is not retouched. The Sebring 1970 track is my own project within the group. I've been working on various versions of historically accurate Sebring track models for several years.

Just thought I'd give this thread a bump for the newer members to hopefully show their artistic side for us to see, and for the older members (in membership, not necessarily in age) to show us some of their newest creations.
