Doesn't the Nook have a table of contents? I thought the same thing on my Sony 505 until I looked closer on the main book page and realized there was an option for table of contents. I had never noticed or used the option before.

I am using Calibre 0.6.37 with output preference set to Kindle to generate a MOBI catalog. The catalog is created, but I don't see a TOC or View Section option when I toggle to the right.

Am I doing something wrong or is it my sorting/metadata?

Take a look at the comments field of 'Killing Joe', remove anything other than plain text, in particular anything that looks like a tag: <B>, <P>, etc. What's left should be just plain text. Try again.

The next release will clean these tags up automatically.

You have no Genre tags, but that's not a problem.

Any entries that show up in the search results have bad markup. Clean those up as you did Killing Joe.

If you still have a problem post the most recent build log.

@cryan10: A couple more things I notice in your build log:

catalog_title: Chris's Books
exclude_genre:
exclude_tags: (~,Catalog)
note_tag: (*)
numbers_as_text: False
read_tag: (+)

If you want to exclude all genres, use a single dot . as indicated in the dialog. If you want to include all genres, use \[^.\]

You may use (*) and (+) as note-tag and read_tag if you wish, (the defaults are simply * and +). However, the exclude tags are a comma-delimited list of tags to exclude, and should not be paranthesized. The default is:

Code:

~,Catalog

If you really want to change the form of exclude_tags to use parantheses, then it should look like

Code:

(~),(Catalog)

I'd suggest sticking with the defaults until you get things working initially.

OK, I must be doing something wrong. In the catalog, ebook viewer mode, I am trying to do a search, the cursor is blinking but nothing I do will let me type in the search terms. Just wondering what I am doing wrong...

I am getting the attached error message. I went in and deleted a lot of tags, and added a dozen books, since it ran perfectly last week. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing one of the new books you added has the title Sex followed by a - or ' or something else nonstandard. Clear this up and it should run fine.

He said that this is fixed in the next update so you could just wait and run it again after 0.6.38 is out.

@Sydney's Mom: dwanthny is on the right track. You've got a book with 'Sex' and a number in the title causing the problem, something along the lines of Sex4Him or 4Sex. For the moment, split that title into two words - separate the number from the letters.

This will be fixed in the next release.

I didn't add any books with Sex in the title, and did a search, and found nothing. Are you sure there isn't some kind of censorship going on?

Definitely no censorship.

Here's what I spotted in your build log that made me guess a title with 'Sex':

Code:

ValueError: invalid literal for float(): Sex

Version 0.6.37 has an error in the title sorting routine when numbers are embedded in words, which made me guess the titles I mentioned earlier.

Try this:

Type 'sex' (no quotes) in the search field, see if anything pops up with a number embedded.

If nothing jumps out, version 0.6.38 should resolve this problem.
