Have something to say to publishers about ebooks?

Hi all! Jane from Dear Author here. Mobile Read said it was okay for me to post this here. I'm privileged to be able to give a presentation at this month's Tools of Change conference along with Sarah Wendell from Smart Bitches Trashy Books and Editor Angela James from Carina Press. Our presentation is what readers want and it is based on conversations we've had with ebook readers for over four years on our blogs, in email and on message boards. But folks like hard numbers along with anecdotes so we've put together a survey and would love for you to fill it out. If you do fill it out, you'll be entered to win $250.00 toward books or an ebook reader of your choice. Survey link here It's an opportunity for your voice to be heard. I filled it out too and left many comments. I am very passionate about books and hope the publishers finally start to get the message. I even found that a few of the questions showed the biases some of the publishers have (for example assuming one is either buying ebooks or paper books---the question about bookstores being am example. Someone like me who buys ALL their fiction in e-form and ALL their non-fiction in print, I had trouble answering questions like that. Also, the question about whether certain things would reduce the amount of books I download without paying, if you are someone who has not/would not do this in the first place then it is an irrelevant question). I did my best. I hope the comments were helpful and I hope they reach the publisher's ears Thanks for letting us know about your survey! Let us know how the talk goes. |

Thanks for asking-I completed it, with comments! (One thing though, some of the questions had pre-selected answers, is that by design?) |
