Those 505s are pretty popular. In your opinion, how do they stack up against the Kindle?

I use the 505 much more than the Kindle at the moment. They are actually pretty equivalent to me. The Sony 505 does have the SD slot. The contrast is a slight bit better than my K2. Oh and I sold the Astak PP today to a local guy and new member. Need to update my Devices

I do use the K2 for reading my Calibre Download of ScienceDaily each morning. It just is better/easier to navigate the table of contents links and pages etc.

Ok, I just come back from a coffee with a friend cos I needed to get out of the house or murder would have been committed. I thought the time out would calm me down - but far from it. I'm still steaming.

My stepdaughter and my hubby came back from Europe (they travelled to 2 more cities than me as I rather spend more time with my family over there). We paid for her full trip - EVERYTHING. When they came home she showed me a ring my husband bought her. On top of everything ELSE. And as if I don't know jewellery when I see it. HA. They tried to tell me it's a cheapo. HA HA - I have checked the cc statement. And according to that it is what I thought. I don't mind that he bought her a ring. BUT WHERE THE F.... IS MINE?????? I am soooo shitty right now. He forgot my birthday and our wedding anniversary AGAIN. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

"module" ? what now ? yes, i'm on XP (pro). the last time, i noticed that it said something about a paging fault in a non-paged area, or something like that. here is the error message from the "event observer" from one of the errors, in case that helps / you're interested (sorry it's in french but i imagine you can get the general idea) :

i actually work in illustrator more than photoshop (i imagine that doesn't really make much difference though) but lately i've been doing mainly code, and the last few times i had the BSOD there were no image apps open, i think i had chrome, sigil, notepad, possibly dreamweaver, and probably either spotify or itunes. possibly something else but i really can't remember now.

Could be memory... Memory problems are hard to tackle as they only occur when the faulty parts are accessed.

"could be memory" yeah, that's about as far as i got the last time i tried to diagnostic it.

Run a memory tester (while you're asleep, as it generally takes some time!)

Or, remove a module (if you have more than one, naturally!)

no running anything while i'm asleep : my computer is in my bedroom, the noise of the fan will prevent me from sleeping.

actually i did run some memory testers the last time and they didn't find a problem (which doesn't mean that is not where it is). but i only ran superficial ones, since i didn't have time to leave it alone for a test for 12 hours or so. when you say module, do you mean the memory barrette ? i could try to replace those (although i may have tried that last time, i can't remember). i have an extra one (3go installed, and since they're sold in pairs, 1 spare. i just have to find where i put it).

Zelda, that's funny about sleeping because I actually run a fan (a white noise generator) so that I CAN sleep. It keeps the other noises out.
