I do not have e-pub firmware, as the cost of sending my PRS-500 for factory firmware update from here is prohibitive, and I have a new reader (PB360) anyway. | |

We were discussing ePub files. The Sony doesn't currently support full justification in ePub files (although apparently the new PRS-900 does). Hopefully Sony will release an updated firmware at some point which supports full justification for ePub.

The day sony learns to render ePub properly (someone compared pocketbook and sony, and said sony was no match). And remember france exists... Most of times, thier reader comes out in france after the fight. I have Twilight when the editor forgot the "justily" css, i can't read them ! It's ok on pc, but on the 5".... Luclily, this can be fixed by a few seconds of editing. Quote:

That is because the lack of hyphenation. Without hyphenation the no justification mode just looks dreadful and the extremely big raggedness disturbs the reading since you get patterns that the eye is drawn to.

No, it is not. Even without the cover you get a shadow. It is most probably a bug in the ePub that have no top margin. Even without the shadow it looks dreadful from a typographical point of view with no top margin. Also the top of the letters for certain fonts is aligned with the black border or even maybe cut-off. |
