People that can't afford decent bandwidth aren't likely to be using OS X machines in any case

Well.. Kovid suggested that if you have limited band witch you probably don't have OS X... to which I sort of said... you might have OS X but not an Apple. Alot of people use Hackintoshes.

But, I know there are certainly many people in many countries that buy Macs.

One thing that really, really irks me is that Calibre does not support drag & drop.

I want to IMPORT files by dragging them onto the Calibre dock icon.
Hey, I bought a Mac, I like things simple

I found a bug, I think: I just downloaded an epub called dennis batchelder - soul identity.epub. I imported it, then tried to change the Author to upper case first letters, but they get changed back as soon as I change the input field.
I solved the quirk by changing the name to LÖKOIOUIGZHBJKN, saving, then changing back to a proper name

I just don't see the connection between limited bandwidth and not having an expensive computer. There are still large numbers of places in the US that can't get broadband, at least not cable or DSL. Doesn't matter how much your computer costs, broadband just isn't available. Unless maybe you go to satellite, but that seems unsatisfactory from comments in a steaming audio forum I use (guitar players).

The minimum required changes are the Version number and the hash codes for the source code. Takes 5 min. Unless the Author overhauled it's build system. Or changed to a newer qt - like Sigil did recently.

Well whaddayaknow: Calibre now supports Drag&Drop.
I can drag the ePubs from my downloads folder right into the library of Calibre. Awesome, Kovid!

Now, there's just one more thing : could you make it so that I can drag an epub onto the Calibre DOCK ICON too?

I don't know if only I have that huge problem with Callibre.
It is really unstable on 10.6.2. If you want more information, just write and I will send you.
