How many hours of reading do you need to get out of an eBook, exactly? 16+ hrs seems like MORE than enough time to last between charges... And when it comes to working on documents and such, DataViz AND Google both have Android OS options for achieving this... The virtual keyboard is definitely something that will take some getting used to, but most touchscreen phone users should adapt quickly. Remember, this is NOT meant to replace your laptop, but serve as a watered down solution for surfing the web, light email work, and maybe handle some media here and there...the potential here is quite impressive - the REAL concern is with the whole first generation device thing...how good/quick will their support be and resolving the inevitable bugs that get past testing and into production units?

For those wondering about the right-handed vs. left-handed issue, according to the eDGe website, it can rotate 180 degrees so that the e-ink side is on the right.

Part of me says "yeah this could be useful", but a much bigger part of me says "uh, no thanks." I can appreciate a dual-panel concept (I was pretty excited about the OLPC XO 2.0 that, as predicted, never came to fruition), but it's still just e-ink rubbish mated to generic LCD. The e-ink is still slow and nearly useless, and the LCD is the same fare as on more capable netbooks. A netbook with Pixel Qi will be better at virtually everything that this device aspires to do, except have 2 displays on simultaneously (which, don't get me wrong, could be useful). If entourage hooks up with Qualcomm or Pixel Qi and makes a dual screen device in that vein and ditches e-ink altogether, then they'd be a lot more exciting and interesting. I hope they sell enough of the Vizplex-LCD version to promote development of better things in the future though. |

I have to join the dont get it club. I read novels on my sony 300 and comics and browsing typing etc on my dell mini 9 hackintosh. I only see disadvantages to switching from those two devices that cost roughly the same and way about the same but both function better than this device for their respective tasks. |

The concept of the entourage is nice, but i whish it had windows. I like android, but some aps will not run on it obviously. On the other hand, runing this app on a small screen woudn't be that usefull.

I can't wait to read your review! It seems to me there is a lot of e-book reader related stuff going on these days...

I just find that if I'm reading from only one panel it's easier to read from the right one.

Even the netbooks today that claim 8 hour battery in real use get more like 4 or 5. BOb
