Hi, I've been using Calibre to make ebooks, and it was to my delight that for one book, I ran it through Calibre and found when I loaded it onto my Kindle that there were chapter marks! I could actually jump from chapter to chapter. It didn't work for the last few chapters at the end, but still, I was thrilled. The only thing is, I can't figure out how I did it in the first place and haven't managed to do it again. Help please? (Calibre works great btw!) Last edited by Anarel; 12-20-2009 at 07:33 PM. |

IIRC it will work if you have the TOC detection options setup correctly for your input document.

Read the conversion section of the User Manual, that's where this is explained.

Apologies if this is a repeat, but I can't see the issue anywhere except in the fault tickets on the Calibre page... The latest version 0.6.30 fails under 32-bit Ubuntu 9.04 - it's complaining about GLIBC_2.10: Quote:
0.6.13 is available in 9.10 but - if installed to 9.04 - segfaults on starting. I shall play with an upgrade to 9.10 and see what happens. I don't suppose I can persuade Kovid to roll back a version? Neil | |

After further investigation... upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10 works with 0.6.30, but it has to be installed from Kovid's site. There's a version 0.6.13 in the 9.10 repositories, but it won't import (at least) existing .pdb and .lrf files - it has the 'no such function uuid' error discussed elsewhere here. Thanks, Neil |

Previous versions of calibre are available from sourceforge.net Just untar them into the /opt/calibre directory (or wherever you chose to install calibre) |

Ah, excellent, thanks, Kovid. Might it be worth a comment to that effect on your download page? And perhaps a link? (And might I say what a fine program, while I'm at it?) Neil |

Thanks! Did that just sneak in or was I blind previously? I'm sure I missed it before... btw - would simply renaming the current /opt/calibre directory provide an immediate backup in case of a new version biting me? I'm assuming all the pointers and links would be similarly named - is this the case? Neil |
