My ship date still says Nov. 23rd. I just wish they would update the page or publish information for all of us who have pre-ordered and are past the estimated ship date.

Mine says Dec. 10 and Processing. They are supposed to send emails when shipped. So far none received by me.

Well, it's the 18th. Is not this the ship date? I called the Sony Style store here in Las Vegas yesterday and they were very coy about availability today. I will call a little later to see if they have a display model at least.

The sony site changed from Pre-Order to Back-Order so something is going on. I am surprised that they didn't use the 18th as a Launch date because it would have been perfect for Christmas. I am sure that there is some VP cleaning their desk out at Sony now.

I'm looking forward to some reviews as well. I'm also hoping my local Sony Style will have a demo unit, even better would be a Best Buy store, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

My husband pre-ordered one for me through Best Buy as a Christmas present. He received an email late yesterday saying that the expected ship date had been moved from 12/18 to 12/22.

Depending on demand, stores will likely take a back seat to existing pre-orders, and I'd imagine a responsible company would be shipping out the first batch of pre-orders with the first batch of units for stores and partners like Best Buy. So, if Sony ships today, I wouldn't expect demo units for a couple days.

And as pretty much everything ships from the West Coast (coming in from China), I'd half-expect some shipping could take place as late as 8-9pm Pacific, if any get shipped today.

I just was over at the Sonystyle store at the local mall. The 900 arrived yesterday and is on display. There is a sign stating that it is a "prototype" (although it works well and you can handle it) and units will not be available at the store until January.

It feels smaller than I expected and is certainly a good replacement for my 505, pending a review of the glare question.

I called the Sony Style near me (Beachwood, Ohio) and they have a demo model. Best Buy however said it would probably be at least a week or two - looks like I'm going to Beachwood

Sony sent me a FedEx delivery of a $ 10 credit coupon towards an eBook with a thank you for my PRS-900 eReader.

They could have sent me the code by email. Why FedEx? At first I thought it was the reader but it was too light. Just a box with the coupon enclosed.

LOL.

I just checked the Sony Store in Vegas again. They don't have any demos yet. I was told that the new ship date is December 22 and that they will have them in Stock at the store on December 29. He said he confirmed this with his inventory "guy".

I'd fully expect 600 and 900 to be identical in glare. Unfortunately, until they can get low reflectivity in their touch layer, it's going to be a problem. Which is a shame because it is the only thing that made me return a 600. I loved everything else about the thing, and the 900 improves upon it.

Ironically, this is the same sort of problem people run into framing prints. The glass in front of the print reflects light, produces glare. The solutions are not cheap at all right now.
