Peter Watts arrested at US border - should we interfere?
Another thread here is encouraging us to give generously to help Peter Watts out of a US/Canada border scrape.
Isn't that just involving ourselves in a political mess the majority of us at Mobileread don't know the first thing about?

Maybe, but it also gives people the chance to help if they so wish. Without the post none would have been the wiser. With the information we can all form now our own opinion, research further, and if so inclined help.

Isn't it ur responsibilty as citizens to be involved? I believe it is so.

Anyhow, since you explained it so clearly why you believe this to be merely of a political topic (rather than a legal) and since the OT already expressed his wish to close this thread and since we do think MR is much better suited for discussion not related to politics, we're going to close this thread.

If you like to support Mr Watts I suggest you check out ways how you can financially contribute to his legal defense.
