899 so far. Ugh. The prologue was harder to complete than I thought it would be..

X is a good one. Just don't type any word that has an X in it. :-) Maybe just call them XYZ and do a find/replace at the end. But, I feel your pain. Until last night, my MC was "Hero" now he's "Sarge"

"X" is ok as long as you can do a search/replace for " X" and turn on Match Case

Ah! Good ideas!! My husband suggested I name them 1, 2, 3 etc. I wasn't buying it.

Find and replace, though--if I get stuck on names again I will remember that option!

I managed to put 1762 words into my document today, and some of them actually make sense!!

I just signed up - and will be working on mine later today once I get some paying writing done. (I've never finished NaNo- but I have written 3 novels in much longer time frames).

I believe this is the time to introduce the world to the adventures of Dr. James Vandal jr.

I don't think I'm even going to get 1000 words done tonight, which is annoying. I suffered a major fit of accuracy earlier, in which I had to check and double check everything before I could write even half a sentence. Of course, the only reason I needed to be that accurate was so that I could throw it out the window safe in the knowledge that I knew what I was writing was wrong.

Also, I hate doing dialogue.

I'm feeling really good about this book, it's already surprising me with little things I didn't know it was going to say.

LOL. I had the same problem about a week ago when I was procrastinating plotlines. I got hung up on figuring out how the characters in the bubble went to the bathroom. At the time, I thought it was a world breaker. Go figure.

Ah crap. I was proud of myself at 2,755. But I'm not tired. So we'll see where this goes. Doug, I will catch up tonight. Even have I have to make it 5,001.

It helps that I'm not tired and have to go to work tomorrow. Oh well. The NaNo must be done!

Still, once I got into the swing of things I was proud of my work so far. Now we'll see how Scriv compiles it all. I'm already a little anxious about that and trying hard to not get distracted by export.

Bah, 5001 I just hit 6020.

God, I just had one of those moments where I'm writing and something happens that causes something else seemingly minor to happen and then, suddenly, it hits me that my character is about to have a signifigant something happen to them that explains part of their motivation and shapes their progress in the plot, but it's all stuff I never planned.

Love that feeling.

I think I'm going to call it a day for today though. We'll see.
